Health History

The Hearing Instrument Specialist will talk with you about your health history to gain a better idea of what may be impacting your current hearing. We also ask some basic questions about your daily life to make sure the hearing solutions we recommend match with your hobbies and activities.

Otoscopy

The specialist will look in both of your ears using an otoscope. We are looking at a variety of factors to help us determine the best hearing solution for your unique ears.

Hearing Exam

You will go into one of our soundproof booths and have a series of tests to determine your current hearing profile. You may be tested on how well you hear specific tones and/or words. Don’t worry, you can’t fail this test!

Discuss the Audiogram

The results of your hearing exam are displayed on an audiogram. The specialist will explain the audiogram and go over what it all means for you.

Review Options

Based on your unique hearing profile and lifestyle, the specialist will work with you on determining what hearing solutions are the best fit for you. We work with all six major hearing aid manufacturers, which allows us to offer a wide variety of technologies and styles. We work hard to make sure we have options for everyone. At Hearing on Call, we believe in transparency, so the specialist will go over pricing with you for each option. No surprise costs here! To see our current pricing, click here.

Test Drive

Working together with the specialist, you will work through your options by actually putting the hearing aids in your ears. Often, the first pair you try is the best, but it can take a few tries to get it right. When you have found your best fit, you can take the hearing aids home for a few days to evaluate how they work in your own environment. This is a free, no-obligation trial. The specialist will give you some “homework” of what to focus on during your test drive. When you come back to see the specialist, they can make some adjustments based on what did and didn’t work for you.
